The tragic incident took place on Friday at approximately 5:45 p.m. local time as Lynch was heading eastbound on U.S. 62. The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that the fatal crash happened when another vehicle, traveling in the opposite direction, attempted to overtake a car on a two-way undivided section of the highway.
